Best 6 CNY Shopping Mall 2017 in Klang Valley. #CNY2017 #Hotpicks

With CNY fast approaching, one cannot deny the lavish decorations spotted at most of the leading shopping malls in Klang Valley. And that gave me a quick thought, since it has always been a race to lure shoppers to the mall with their fancy decorations – I thought of putting up this list of honors for 2017.

I was lucky enough to visit most of the malls the past weeks, and here goes my hot picks for CNY 2017 shopping ambiance in Klang Valley. I may have missed some other malls, and if you think there are deserving just drop a comment below.

No. 6 Sunway Pyramid – Mai Zao Gai

As bold statement as it says on the forefront, the architecture enactment brought me back to the Hong Kong era.

And Sunway Pyramid was one of the few shopping mall who decided to go with the Year of Rooster theme by just sticking up that huge rooster on top. I felt it would have done better justice if it was placed on the foreground for picture purpose.

No. 5 Pavilion KL – The Rise of Opulence

The majestic but confuse looking chicken or bird was the major attraction even before the completion as I manage to see the works before it went up – my office was just next door.

Pavilion KL has always been a hunting spot for festive decoration, and although I wasn’t disappointed with that flying bird – the overall effect did not do justice in my opinion. I simply cannot deny the lighting investment on that flying bird made it look regal even if you see it floating from miles away.

Tied at No. 3 Suria KLCC – A Homecoming Reunion

KLCC decided to go Peranakan this year. The grand idea was there but I felt it lack of shoppers engagement, if not it would have not tied 3rd spot with 1Utama.

Tied at No.3 1Utama Shopping Centre – Prosper In Spring

Because I live just around the area, doesn’t make this shopping mall the fourth largest in the world a forgotten spot. Surprisingly no chicken theme but instead giving you that all the red you need (or all the Ong you need) for this new year.

Because this mall is so huge, I wonder how many red lanterns were used to decorate. As you refer below, red lanterns everywhere! But most importantly, this is where you Instagramers would like because it would be a great photo from all angle.

No. 2 Berjaya Times Square – City of Prosperity

It was love at first sight. When you talk about shoppers engagement, this would be the winner for 2017 because it carefully placed many props that allow shoppers to be part of.

Let the pictures say it all below taken from the mall Facebook page:

No.1 The Curve – The Empress Celebration

When I step my foot to the centre court, all that came out from my mouth was Wow! Oh Wow! And more Wow!

I’m a big fan of the Old China and its Emperor line history – so this was a huge thumbs up for me because one it did not had to do with Rooster and two it did not had to do with red and prosperity like any other. But instead it came with a story.

The investment on performances were undeniably huge, I mean it was literally celebrating the Empress and why not bring the whole glorified era to the shoppers.
